African Mahogany wood is a stunning rich exotic wood!
Often called Khaya – the heartwood color is quite variable and ranges from pale pink to a deep reddish brown. Its colour tends to darken with age and the quarter-sawn surfaces display a gorgeous ribbon-stipe figure.
This wood has a whole range of uses that include interior trim, furniture, boat building, turning, veneer, and plywood. African Mahogany can display some striking chatoyance that makes the wood surface look like it moves and dances.
If you would like to do the milling yourself – try our 4/4 Rough Cut Mahogany Lumber for a more budget-friendly version.
